WORK-IN-PROGRESS: GLAZNERS in MONTANA
Wayne and Theresa Glazner are living the dream. After 25 years of public service in the State of Nevada, they were able to make move to Montana to build their dream home. They purchased their property in Darby in the spring of 1990. Ten years later in the spring of 2001 they were able to break ground on their log home.

Their plan was to be more than a general contractor on the project; they wanted to complete the work themselves. A true owner/builder undertaking. To date this includes subfloor & decks, stacking of logs (with the help of Montana Log Homes), decking with complete roof build up and metal.

After carefully shopping around the Glazners chose the Perma-Chink Systems products for their log home. Several things about the company and the products met their criteria. They knew, the best thing to protect their investment was to utilize a group of products that were intended to be used together. As laymen, they did not have to piecemeal together products that may be incompatible.

Wayne was able to use his 3/4 hp airless sprayer to apply the Lifeline Dark Natural stain followed by clear topcoat on the exterior logs. Inside he applied Light Natural with two coats of Acrylic Satin.

The Glazners were very pleased with the ease of application and the fantastic results. The logs seemed to come alive. Early on they were able to spend some time in Stevensville, Montana Perma-Chink Systems store applying various stains to several log pieces they brought in. Wayne appreciated the discussion he had with Montana staff regarding the application of stains and sealers along with the future maintenance.

Theresa has taken on the task of applying Energy Seal to the logs. She was able to cover the large checks on the North and South gable logs, as these two walls do not have porch covers. The cold weather has driven her indoors where she is currently sealing the log corners.
